AI-Enabled Indoor Air Quality Monitoring for Fungi Energy

The global rise in indoor air quality (IAQ) awareness, amplified by the COVID- 19 pandemic, has underscored the need for advanced monitoring solutions to ensure safe indoor environments.

SensusAir, a South African innovator in AI-driven environmental sensing, conducted a proof-of-concept (POC) study from November 2020 to June 2023 with Fungi Energy, a forward-thinking energy company, to evaluate IAQ in their corporate office spaces.

Employing a four-pronged approach, SensusAir deployed non-intrusive, event-driven sensors to collect real-time data on key IAQ parameters, including particulate matter (PM), carbon dioxide (CO2), volatile organic compounds (VOCs), and other airborne compounds.

This study identifies critical IAQ risks, quantifies environmental metrics, and proposes mitigation strategies to enhance occupant health, productivity, and environmental, social, and governance (ESG) compliance. The findings highlight elevated PM 2.5 and VOC levels, including carcinogenic compounds like formaldehyde and benzene, emphasising the need for targeted interventions.

This white paper positions SensusAir’s technology as a trailblazer in the IAQ global megatrend, offering actionable insights for Fungi Energy to optimise their indoor environments.
